My Responsibilities

  • Drivable flatbed truck with suspension physics using vector maths.
  • Job system to allow delivering different cargo from A to B without dropping any with a variety of cargo objects taken from a pool of job types and locations.
  • Cargo physics, they would often fly out of the truck if you weren’t careful.
  • Settings menu for changing audio and display settings which would be stored in Unity’s PlayerPrefs to be loaded each time the game is launched.
  • Upload and optimise a WebGL build to the Ludum Dare / Itch.io websites.
  • An upgrade system where the player could spend their money to improve their truck.

The Story

For the Ludum Dare 53 game jam me and a small team of friends decided to create a cargo delivery game under the theme “delivery”. For this we used Unity and had 72 hours to create an engaging game.
 
We ended up creating a successful prototype and had a lot of fun doing it, after the end of the game jam we received positive feedback and were very happy with what we created.
Originally this was posted on the Ludum Dare game jam website but I have since uploaded it to Itch.io to keep it accessible.
